I've been subscribing to the JAMA+ AI newsletter for a couple of years - though predominantly US in origin, the content is always interesting, and often ahead of the curve in terms of AI related research and trials. A lot of the content is also open access, though not all. This week has a particularly good crop of podcasts and articles.

The following three in particular are well worth listening/reading:

      • The first is a conversation with Jonathen Chen and Ethan Goh about multiple reasoning models and the future of AI chatbots. Johnathan hosted Stanford's AI MedEd Symposium last year and is pretty good at making complex stuff easy to understand, he also has a passion for AI in healthcare, without being blind to its pitfalls. Together they're exploring the current state and what's next with agentic AI.

      • The second is a conversation exploring the pros and cons of informing patients about AI, with a lawyer's perspective - it's worth listening because the conversation takes some interesting and often concerning turns.

      • The third is an article - When the Algorithm Teaches - which highlights the move by vendors to position AI clinical decision support tools as dual purpose, not just augmenting decision making, but as educational as well - and the problems with that approach.

I highly recommend the newsletter - if you're interested in receiving it, visit the link below, scroll down and you'll find the sign up panel in the right sidebar.
