      Session Description

Many teams across systems recognize the importance of Cultural Safety and Cultural Humility but how do we know when there is meaningful integration in practice? This webinar explores how innovative approaches to measurement can advance equity and address systemic anti-Indigenous racism.

Drawing from some of the real-world examples of work in this area, we'll discuss pathways for improving system measurement process, opportunities to co-design, Indigenous data sovereignty, and how we can shift the role of measurement to be more relational, reflective, and rooted in community-defined values.

In this session, you will learn to:

Describe the limitations of existing measurement practices and how Indigenous-informed approaches to measurement can support equity and address anti-Indigenous racism in healthcare.
Recognize the distinct features of Cultural Safety and Cultural Humility within measurement approaches.
Identify practical ways to consider measurement aligned to principles of Indigenous data sovereignty.
