Never mind the nitty gritty about AI, we need also to be thinking about the overall impact on society -- job loss and inequitable value in particular. What can we do? We can think about governance and implementation and keep in mind the impacts and how to mitigate where possible.

Thanks for sharing Alies - this really resonated on many levels. Bizarrely, I made a similar comparison to children working in mills in the Industrial Revolution on the forum just last week. It will be interesting to see the course she’s developing.

Today's Brookings presentation brought up an interesting idea - make product Safety a requirement; build governance around safety. Once regulatory requirement specifies safety, the market shifts from profits; towards safety... and maybe social justice?
