David Gilbert from InHealth Associates in the UK, one of their senior patient/caregiver partners has both a newsletter and a leadership course (which PAN sponsored a few years ago). He is also a member of PAN.

Foundations in Patient (Lived Experience) Leadership Programme (June 2025)

This programme is designed for patients/users/carers and non-patients, Patient and Carer Leaders, health professionals, managers, non-clinical staff and those from the independent, voluntary and charitable sector. And it is open to international attendees.

This programme lays the foundations for understanding patient (lived experience) leadership. It leads you through:
• The principles of patient leadership, what it is and where it came from;
• The qualities of an effective patient leader;
• The different roles for a Patient (Lived Experience) practitioner or leader
• Benefits/impact;
• Support needed (including the emotional labour and payment issues) and - models of embedded patient leadership.

The four 3-hour sessions take place on consecutive Fridays, between 3:00pm and 6:00pm UK time on 6th June, 13th June, 20th June and 27th June. Delivered via Zoom.

Costs
For this 12 hour programme, the usual cost is £190. As a subscriber to the InPatient Newsletter it will cost £175. Use the discount code in the recent edition.
