For those of you in Toronto or easy commuting distance, the Ontario SPOR SUPPORT Unit is holding their 10th anniversary research day on Apr 10 at the MaRS Centre.

PAN was asked to form the afternoon plenary panel and talk about both PAN and Reimagining the research landscape, the report PAN did for CIHR SPOR last year. Annette McKinnon, Alies Maybee and Sandra Holdsworth will cover the past, present and future of patient/caregiver involvement in research based on the findings of the PAN report. The past will cover what led to the founding of PAN.

Our report continues to provoke thought and discussion about how research needs to evolve to more effectively include patient and caregiver engagement to make research more meaningful.

@Alies-Maybee Just realized that this is a hybrid event, so I’ve booked to attend online 🙂

Sounds like a fantastic event! In addition to the panel which I’m looking forward to 🙂 , other sessions of interest include:

        • Fairness is Excellence: How Patient-Oriented Research Can Promote Health Equity
        • Designing and Deploying AI Tools to Address the Primary Care Crisis

So we did the panel and I believe we did PAN and the report proud. Lots of positive comments to us personally and references to what we said by later panelists.

Such a treat to do this in person and connect with folks face-to-face.

@Alies-Maybee That’s fantastic Alies! I’m hoping they recorded it so we can see it at some point. Although I registered to attend online and received a confirmation which said the link and instructions to log in would be emailed just before the event started, that email never arrived. I chased several times but haven’t had a response. I’ll keep trying though because I’d love to see the recordings.

@Chris-Johnston @Alies-Maybee That happened to me too. Ok, so I registered the day before the event... but still - no response from OSSU whatsoever. 😞

Oh well... was looking forward to it.
