      Hello Everyone,

This is my first post. I have been lurking for awhile.

I am on a committee to review/revise Care Partner and Visitor Policy for our local hospital.

I am looking for good examples on wording for Essential Care Partner as I want to ensure Essential Caregiver (Partners) are never locked out of hospital.

Any links would be greatly appreciated. Hope this is ok to post here?

        Afternoon Rita:
Can you clarify your request a bit for me please. For example:
        - are you looking for a definition of what an Essential Care Partner is?
        - are you looking for a policy governing Essential Care Partners while in the hospital?
        - are you looking to develop a policy for visitors?

The phrase “ensure Essential Caregivers (Partners) are never locked” confuses me.

Yes I am looking for a definition for Essential Caregiver.

We have a current policy but we want to ensure Essential Caregivers are allowed. n for their loved one, even during pandemic.

I am also looking for examples of other policies to see what others have in place.

            Hi Rita:
Will see what I have in my files.

In the meantime, you might contact other hospitals in your area. Being in sync with neighbouring hospitals aids acceptance by your families.

If you have a Chief Patient Experience Officer you might check to see what they have already.
