All: This is a free panel discussing the work of the Pan Canadian Health Data Strategy (pCHDS), Expert Advisory Group (EAG) of which I am a part. I believe this is a breakthrough series of reports on how to re-think our health systems in Canada so that they are based around person-centred health data systems, policies and processes. Many of my colleagues on the EAG are super experienced in the ways of federal-provincial-territorial-First Nations-Metis-Inuit relations around the tricky business of healthcare. I do hope you find time to learn more about this and join in moving healthcare to not only think person-centred but also re-structure the foundational pieces to support this. Hence the health data systems, policies and processes. Without re-thinking the foundations, we cannot really move to person-centred integrated care however much we may wish to.

This is an op ed I co-authored to whet your appetite: Canada’s health ‘data gap’ harms everyone

      Objectives:
The panel discussion will provide the audience with a summary of the work of the PCHDS EAG centred on a vision for a person-centric health system supported by data stewardship. Panelists will discuss the principles for implementation of a common, coherent cross-jurisdictional approach, and the policy, governance, engagement, and interoperability factors that will be critical for success. The audience will also have the opportunity to raise further issues and broaden the discussion.

Here are the links to the 2 reports so far with the 3rd to come around end of March 2022:
