Contribute to HSO’s National Long-Term Care Services Standard - Deadline Extended to December 1 https://bit.ly/3nuyJs3

You will find a fillable PDF file that you can complete and send back to them. They did a survey beforehand to get opinions - I plan to fill this out despite being in a category not even listed in their question about demographics. That is I am an aging adult who may have to consider my future living arrangements.

But do they want to hear from Baby Boomers? Their list of potential responders suggest that the answer could be No.

"In response to the federal government’s commitment to improving long-term care services across Canada, the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), Health Standards Organization (HSO), and Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group) are collaborating to develop two new complementary National Standards for long-term care homes that are shaped by the needs of residents, families, and Canada’s long-term care workforce."

        Dear Annette,
I’m a caregiver representative on the HSO LTC services Technical Committee tasked with writing the new standard.

It’s my understanding that we seek feedback from all stakeholders.

If you’re unsure however, it’s worth emailing engagement@healthstandards.org for more information.

Hope this helps and take care,
        Mary Brachaniec

          Thanks Mary
The workbook does have a space for 'other' but it seems unusual that prospective users of LTC are not a primary audience for future standards
It must be an interesting standard to work on

          Annette
