      I just sent this blast:

All: The federal gov't is funding 8 Canadian health organizations and they want feedback. Some of the orgs are inviting their advisors to participate. It is very important that as many of us that can, respond. PAN cannot respond as an organization so we are counting on all of us to make our voices heard by Nov 24.

      https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/programs/external-advisory-body-pan-canadian-health-organizations/external-review-stakeholder-guidelines-questions.html

Even if you have no experience with each of them, consider responding about the orgs you do know about.

If you would like the government to aware of PAN, sign your name and add "member of the Patient Advisors Network." Cheers! Alies

TEXT FROM CFHI INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE

Dear stakeholder: The federal Minister of Health recently announced an external review of the eight federally funded pan-Canadian health organizations (PCHOs). This review will be undertaken by two recognized health policy experts, Dr. Pierre-Gerlier Forest and Dr. Danielle Martin, who have been asked to explore the future role of these organizations in light of a number of critical challenges and priorities facing the health system. The External Advisors will consult with a small reference group with expertise relevant to this review.

As part of this work, the advisors want to hear from stakeholders on their views on specific issues relevant to the review. Organizations and individuals are welcome to respond to one or all of the focused questions set out at the link below and to provide your say on this initiative.

      Review of Pan-Canadian Health Organizations

We wanted to ensure you had the opportunity to share your thoughts.

      Deadline for submission
Please note that your submission must be no longer than 5 pages and must be received by the Secretariat no later than 11:59 pm EST, November 24, 2017.

i agree that this is an opportunity for this group to add their voice. I look forward to possible online discussions to help me shape an appropriate response that is likely to be heard and addressed. Federal vs. Provincial?

Lorraine, I believe this is at the federal level, since the organizations mentioned are pan-Canadian.

Thank you for confirming. I am at the NAPCRG conference in Montreal until the 21st as a patient partner. Hoping this experience will help to shape how I address this request. Enjoy your contributions to this network Amy.

Lorraine, I will be attending the NAPCRG pre-conference on Friday. Will you be there? It would be great to meet you IRL!

Yes I will. I arrive on the 16th and return on the 21st. The poster I developed with the team from Western was a winner and we are presenting our poster on Patient Oriented Research. I am with Amanda Terry, Robert Van Hoom and Moira Stewart. We have worked together presenting to the Research Group at the Masterclass and I have been also participated with them in the TUTOR program.

Are you presenting? I will come to your session. Look forward to meeting your in person.

                  Lorraine

                    Hi Lorraine,

Kirk Kelly is making a presentation on small 'a' advocacy on Friday, and I plan to attend that session.

If you are there Friday in the morning, we can chat over breakfast!

Tomorrow (Thursday) some of the presenters of NAPCRG will enlighten us about community engagement in Indigenous communities (Vivian Ramsden) and in the US (Jack Westfall, Maret Felzien).

                      Hi Amy,

I am sorry I missed you for breakfast. I went to the 21st floor for breakfast hoping to see you. I realized later that maybe this was just for presenters. I could not find Kirk Kelly on the list of presenters for Friday so perhaps this was a pay to participate session.

Hopefully we will meet up during this conference.

                      Lorraine
