What happens when someone raises a concern and isn’t believed? When their knowledge of their own body – or their family member’s condition – is dismissed? When being labelled “difficult” or “anxious” means their needs go unmet?

Through a brief overview of why this matters, followed by an interactive panel, we will illuminate critical issues related to trust, credibility, and the power dynamics that exist when patients and carers interact with the healthcare system. Lived/living experience and practical strategies will be shared to explore how person-centred care can be put into action.

This webinar is hosted by the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) and the Actioning Person Centred Care Special Interest Group (APCC-SIG). Co-designed with patient, carer and community partners, researchers and health and care professionals, this webinar is freely available to all. We aim to foster dialogue, reflection, and shared learning on advancing health and social care systems that listen and act on lived experience. Recognising that this topic may be sensitive for some attendees, a registered psychotherapist will be available during and following the webinar to offer support and resources as needed.
