*New Resource 2025: "Complex Relational Trauma & Complex PTSD: Closing the Gap in Healthcare - A Guide for Professionals"*

Read about this project which was initiated by a patient partner and included a team of clinicians, researchers, & patient partners. Our team conducted a qualitative research study to investigate the lived experiences of trauma survivors within healthcare. The study confirmed what the literature and anecdotal evidence suggested. That is, there is a gap in healthcare relating to access to professionals who have education and training about complex trauma. Based on the findings, the team produced a guide for healthcare professionals and institutions. It provides an overview of complex trauma and CPTSD, identifies healthcare inequities in treatment, services and support for this trauma population, reasons for this, and information and resources to assist healthcare institutions and professionals to address this gap.
