      PAN has been talking extensively with Aliki Thomas, a researcher committed to raising the profile of rehab as a strong component of care. She maintains: Rehabilitation is not a luxury. It is the bridge between medical intervention and meaningful participation in life.

      She has written an op ed article for The Hill Times, the parliament hill publication that decision-makers and legislators read.

        @Alies-Maybee Totally agree, great article - it reminded me of the NASEM workshop last year exploring how rehab is essential to longevity and healthy aging.

        Far too often I hear people say they simply bypass rehab as it's beyond their reach financially, even when subsidized to some extent by health insurance - the limitations make it unaffordable.
