      Webinar 10 April 2035:
Good practice for public involvement and engagement in data research

First in a series of webinars from PEDRI (Public Engagement in Data Research Initiative), a UK organization, launching their Good Practice Standards.

      From their website:

January 2025 saw the launch of the Public Engagement in Data Research Initiative’s (PEDRI) Good Practice Standards. Co-created with professionals and the public over a two-year period, they help the data research community to work well with the public, providing a framework to build transparency and inclusion into the research process.

Hear from those involved in developing the Standards including Shayda Kashef (Senior Public Engagement Manager, ADR UK), Piotr Teodorowski (Health Services Researcher, University of Stirling) and Jan Speechley (PEDRI Public Partner) in conversation with Anna Woolman (Community Engagement Lead, PEDRI) to find out how can we make sure the public voice shapes the way data is used.

@Chris-Johnston thanks for sharing Kris I followed a lot of the work being done in the UK and this sounds like an interesting webinar to go to be interesting to see what the standards are and how the design of developing them were done with the community.

@Sandra-Holdsworth Yes, I'm keen to hear what the process was and to what extent patients and the public were involved.

The standards are on their website already - on this page - if you scroll down you'll see them briefly outlined in expandable segments. Scroll further down and there's a link to a more detailed PDF to download.

I've skimmed through it (but will read it more thoroughly before the session) and at first glance it reads like there's been significant patient input. Time will tell 🙂
