We are hearing the phrase ' health data literacy " more frequently and you may be curious what this is about .The Healthy Data Collective
website link is hosting a webinar series - recordings available .The last one was on " The Importance of Health Data Literacy" , with a panel including PP and PAN CoChair @Alies-Maybee . Check out the session at [utube link ]. and the website

In this sixth webinar, Alies Maybee, Catharine Whiteside and Conrad Pow shared their views about the importance of Health Data Literacy as a foundational component of improving our health data systems, healthcare system and overall health outcomes.

The webinar starts with an exploration of how we could define health data literacy. This conversation led to demonstrating that health data literacy is connected to many other aspects of effective health data.

@Donna-Rubenstein thanks for the promo regarding this important (to me) topic.

Health data literacy is a bit of a hard sell - not exactly sexy! Also, why should we care? We need to understand that health data of all sorts - test results, doctor's notes, images - are the basic elements used to diagnose and treat us. The quality, availability and shareability of our data is important to our care - not losing sight of the protections of our data in the meantime. I will probably get more into this topic over time so stay tuned!
