Last year many PAN members were at the CMA (Canadian Medical Application) Summit (not me though)

This year it is being held in Toronto. The organizers received hundreds of applications from patients and caregivers. 50 patients are caregivers are attending. I'm one. It would be great for all who are going to meetup at the Summit.

On Twitter I see these people are attending so far.

      Carole Anne Alloway

      Jana Buhlmann

      Julie Panneton

      Samira Chandani

Here's a link to a report about last year's Summit

Is there a link to submit an application?

            Sorry Claudia,

The application period is over and they are letting people know who they are funding for the August event.

They had hundreds of applications for 50 spots.

Looking forward to attending. Any suggestions where we can all connect Annette?

Maybe the best idea would be seeing if CMA has an extra room we could use to connect or to sit quietly and talk to one another.

I expect that most speaker sessions will be interesting, however I have often found spots in conference programs where my interest in the topic is a little less. An alternative can sometimes be welcome.

Here are a few more attendees:

                Maggie Keresteci

                Melissa Jones @MelissaJonesTO

                Francine Buchanan @FieryFrancine

Please say hello to Maggie Keresteci! We follow each other on Twitter.

Last year I had an awesome time learning and sharing. A definite highlight was hearing Chris Hadfield speak. I imagine this year will be a stellar line up of speakers.

The organizers have set up a space called Grand Central for recharging, connecting with others, small discussions etc

We can meet at Grand Central at break on day 1 during break (10.15-10.45am) or just after the fitness session in the morning at 7.45am.

I have downloaded the CMA app onto my iPhone, but I can't sign in. I believe we need an email giving us a password, but they aren't out yet (based on an email I got after complaining on Twitter.)

Here's the tweet that gives you the link to download the app yourself. (and make a note of the hashtag tweeters)

Attending the #CMAHealthSummit? Don't forget to use the CMA mobile app for on-the-go access to the meeting schedule, event listing, reminders, floor plans and more!

Now that this is in the past I'm curious about what other members thought of the experience.

I also note that they want us to join their doctor-led movement related to the T-shirts they gave out. I don't think this is related to the online discussion forums that they mentioned to us at the conference.

"The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is launching a new public engagement platform: CMA Health Advocates! On the heels of the success of Demand a Plan, as the country prepares for a federal election in the fall, the CMA is dedicated to putting health care back on the agenda.

You can sign up and become a CMA Health Advocate in much the same way you supported Demand a Plan. By providing a few pieces of basic information, you'll be all set! Stay tuned for upcoming newsletters with more information about the issues we're launching with: seniors care, access to care for all and virtual care. To prepare for the future we must think big, aim high, work together and be persistent."

                            Hi Annette,

CMA speakers exposed many exciting innovative healthcare strategies and tools. Amazingly innovative digital assistive aids. One big take-away was the need for doctors to permit themselves to think and work in collaborative teams because digital transformation is inevitable and will happen better and faster with a united (team) platform. I keep thinking about Dr. Alessi’s question to doctors: “Are we prepared to give ourselves permission to conceive of medicine without disease.” And that 3 billionaire philanthropists (Bezos, Buffet and Diamond) have formed a company (HAVEN) to do just that. Utopia?
