      Hi

Sorry if this is the wrong place. Haven't figured out navigating PAN yet.

I was talking to Annette about the tool used in SK for researchers and patient partner peer reviewers to assess level of patient engagement in research proposals. It is called the PORLET.

It is available on the SCPOR website along with discussion of how to use. www.scpor.ca

I can't figure out how to copy it here,

Hi Diana, Happy to come to the rescue.

CLICK HERE TO LINK TO THE PORLET WEBSITE

I've watched the PORLET videos and taken a quick look at the scoring glossary. This is useful! I imagine that you and all the other Saskatchewan patient reviewers will find ways to refine and develop this tool. Let us know if/when that happens.

Meanwhile, I intend to adapt it for reviewing tasks that I'm asked to complete --and I'll be sure to give credit to the Saskatchewan Centre for Patient Oriented Research. SCPOR

Does anyone else have examples of tools or training for patient reviews of grant proposals under the national Strategy for Patient Oriented Research?

Finally, Diana, please know that we readily acknowledge that the GroupSite software is difficult to navigate and doesn't do everything we'd like. It's a top priority for technology improvement.

To insert a hyperlink to a website, first highlight the linking text in your message, click the sideways figure 8 in the editing bar and paste the web address in the box, then click the lower lefthand box that says SAVE. That sideways figure 8 is supposed to look like a chainlink -- link, get it? The strange one next to it "breaks" the link.

Many thanks for contributing this useful resource!! Much appreciated. Anyone else have something like this from your SPOR support unit?

        Warm regards, Carolyn

Thanks so much Carolyn. SHRF (Sask Health Research Foundation) has a deeper dive instrument. It doesn't include the multistakeholder research teams, does cover the rest with descriptors for every .5 of a score..I will see if I can find an electronic copy and ?post

I have used the PORLET tool two years in a row reviewing Research Grant Proposals here in Saskatchewan. The more I have used it the better my assessment skills are. I find it objective, measurable, and stimulates discussion at a much deeper level about what is Patient Centered Research and what and how to measure.
