It's interesting that the WHO is putting this learning course together. I'll be watching to see the introduction next year.

The World Health Organization invites you to contribute your big idea to shape the future of training and learning in achieving better health for all.

The WHO Academy, a lifelong learning centre scheduled to launch next year, is working to scale up learning for impact through proven and innovative means, and aims at reaching millions of people concerned about their own and other people's health around the world. Using methods that are adapted to individuals' needs, the Academy will enable learners to tailor their experience to their circumstances.

Learners will also be able to track progress and document it in case lifelong learning records are required to advance their careers. WHO's learning strategy is critical to this effort. It will scope and frame strategic directions WHO needs to take to change how health workers, decision-makers, public health officials, and health providers at large are supported in getting access to lifelong learning.

Our goal is to make lifelong learning in health a genuine force for improving people's health, protecting them from emergencies and ensuring universal health coverage and better health and well-being. We all have a role to play in bringing the learning strategy together: governments, education institutions, international organizations including WHO, private sector and civil society.

Accordingly, we are holding this online consultation to crowdsource ideas aimed at addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with creating a truly impactful learning strategy for improving global health.

See yourself as a learner or a provider of learning. We are living in a world that is rapidly changing. What is your big idea to create a world where lifelong learning to achieve global, national and individual goals for good health becomes the norm? What technologies and other emerging assets do you think can help effective lifelong learning?

What needs to change to improve the effectiveness and outcomes of health learning? How can competencies and skills be improved across millions of health workers? How can we remove barriers to lifelong learning so that everyone can contribute to health and can experience better health? We want to hear from you! Please share the single big idea that you would want to see included in WHO's learning strategy.

All ideas can be submitted on the form below. The WHO Academy reserves the right to use, adapt and integrate your idea into the strategy and to other related plans. As per WHO protocol, the strategy - including the ideas that inform it - will be made available as an open-source resource, copyrighted by WHO. You may indicate on the form your willingness to be named and receive recognition for your idea. If you experience any problems with this consultation form, or have any questions, please send an email to WHEtraining@who.int.
