My first few experiences as a patient partner on a research team came with no previous training. Later I took the Ontario Master Class and became trained as a CIHR SPOR trainer and then did the PiR online training. In all cases, the training was more targeted to the researchers but did include patient partners. I have some questions:

Is there training we need that is not pertinent to the researchers?

Is the general patient-oriented research (POR) training currently on offer useful?

Is learning about POR in general best done together with researchers?

And finally, what do we need to know to be effective partners in research?

Would be most interested in everyone's thoughts and experiences. Alies
