Earlier this year, Canadians told the Santis-Nanos Canadian Health Perspective that the health system needs to change now, with shorter waits and better access at the top of their list. Our newest national survey explores the role Canadians see for artificial intelligence in delivering that change.

The findings show Canadians are further along than many might expect. Two in five already use AI tools for their health, and seven in 10 would be open to AI reviewing their tests or scans if it meant seeing a specialist sooner. Their support comes with clear conditions. Canadians want health care professionals to stay in charge of their care, they want their health data kept in Canada, and they are calling on governments to strengthen regulation while investing in AI for research and system improvement.
