Canada’s AI future depends on making technology useful, accessible and trustworthy. Solomon’s announcement of $162 million over five years with Mitacs for 10,000 paid AI-related placements offered one practical mechanism illustrating trust, capabilities and adoption. The discussion also examined why safety supports adoption, why everyday workloads do not always require frontier models, and how sovereign control can coexist with international partnerships.
